The complex social-hygienic characteristics of 483 families of students with 577 children of preschool age were studied in Tashkent, Republic of Uzbekistan. It was established that more than 80.0% of family students live with their parents; 80.5% have one child and 19.5% have two children. In most cases, family students do not carry out the recommendations of medical workers during pregnancy, and there is no exclusive breast-feeding or parental care of children. As a result, a high percentage of children are given artificial nutrition and additional food (56%) in the student families. All these factors negatively affect the children’s health status.
