Kasabach-Merritt syndrome associated with infantile hepatic hemangioendothelioma: a case report

Clinically, the condition manifests by a classic triad consisting of hepatomegaly, high-output heart failure and giant hemangioma. Similar to other giant hemangiomas, IHH can lead to Kasabach-Merritt syndrome, which is characterized by consumption coagulopathy and thrombocytopenia. In this article a newborn with giant hepatic vascular tumor, local consumption coagulopathy and congestive heart failure is presented.
