Abstract
Chronic lung disease is, by definition, continuation of oxygen dependency and/ or need of assisted ventilation because of lung pathologies in the newborn, especially in a premature one. With the use of antenatal steroids, postnatal surfactant, and modern less invasive and traumatic ventilation techniques, the presentation of the disease and profile of the patient population have changed. In this article, current concepts in the definition, classification and treatment of chronic lung disease of the premature newborn are reviewed.
Keywords: kronik akciğer hastalığı, prematüre, yenidoğan.
