Abstract
Rhabdomyoma is the most common primary cardiac tumor in the pediatric age group. These tumors can be diagnosed in the prenatal period, but are most frequently diagnosed in the newborn period. Multiple rhabdomyomas are more consistent with the diagnosis of tuberous sclerosis than a single tumor. Clinical manifestations of tuberous sclerosis may not become evident until later in life. The presence of rhabdomyomas alone, without life-threatening hemodynamic instability or arrhythmias, should not be an absolute indication for surgery. Here, we present two patients with multiple intracardiac rhabdomyomas on fetal and postnatal echocardiography.
