Abstract

Invasive procedures are frequently performed in neonatal intensive care units. Unlike in adult patients, consent of the parents or conservators is sought for decisions pertaining to the medical procedure in neonates. However, physicians encounter some important problems when making critical and vital emergency decisions. We discuss the ethical problems encountered in decisions of rescue invasive treatment in infants with high risk.
