Abstract

Gastric pneumatosis defined as intramural gas of the stomach is a rare sign and is usually associated with necrotizing enterocolitis or proximal intestinal obstruction. Although gastric pneumatosis has been suggested as a feature of fulminant necrotizing enterocolitis and a sign indicative of severe and widespread gastrointestinal tract involvement, we herein report four gastric pneumatosis cases associated with necrotizing enterocolitis who completely recovered with conservative therapy.
