Abstract
Achondroplasia is the most common genetic skeletal disease which causes disproportionately short stature and is characterized by rhizomelic shortness of the limbs. The relationship between Achondroplasia and advanced paternal age is shown in many studies. In this study, we calculated the fathers age at birth of 50 patients who were diagnosed with achondroplasia by clinical and radiological findings. The mean age of the fathers was 36.2 years and the median age was 36 years.
