Abstract

Early childhood is the period below the age of eight, and “early childhood development” is the physical, mental, social, emotional, moral and intellectual development of the child during this phase. Early childhood development is influenced by care, nutrition, education, and health and a multidisciplinary collaboration, and culturally sensitive interventions are crucial. This paper provides a review of the scientific studies on early childhood development in Turkey between 2000-2007. The major purpose of this review was to identify the research perspectives and interest of the different disciplines on early childhood development. In this article, 326 scientific studies have been compiled and evaluated.
