Türkiye Çocuk Esirgeme Kurumu (The Orphanage Society of Turkey) was founded in 1921 in order to arrange and organize the social duties and cares for children who needed protection and aids assistancein 1921. Education studies aimed at mother and child’s health, book publications, exhibitions, healthy children contests, the school of nursing, lotteries of precious goods, balls, shows, entertainments, contests, conferences, stamps of tenderness, and luxury telegrams were some of the enterprises of the Society. The Orphanage Society of Turkey published a serial booklet aimed at mother and child health. This article presents one of these booklets, entitled Dişlerimizi Niçin Temizleriz? – Why Do We Clean Our Teeth?, that which was published before the Alphabet Revolution of in Turkey, in 1927.
