Abstract
What should be performed under conditions which endanger vital functions has been called Basic Life Support (BLS). BLS increases quality of life as well as the rates of survival in such conditions. The pediatric BLS guidelines have been changed, partly in response to convincing new scientific evidence, and partly to simplify them in order to assist teaching and retention. In this paper, the changes are reviewed in order to inform the pediatricians in Turkey, to evaluate them, to and facilitate their implementation into practice.
