Abstract

The riddle is defined as a game, entertainment, which leaves the listener or reader to know what it is, by telling some of its features implicitly rather than directly, without mentioning its name. Although it is seen as a means of entertainment, beyond entertainment and play, it is also known for its educational feature. The fact that riddles are in the form of questions and answers, prompting people to think, and increasing one’s reasoning ability through associations and similarities show their usability in education. However, it is seen that riddles are not used enough in the education process. The aim of this article is to provide an idea that riddles, which have been known since the past and have been emphasized to be used in the field of education recently, can also be used in medical education. Considering the difficulty and intense information content in the medical education process, it is possible to tell a lot more with few words with riddles. It is aimed to raise awareness that riddles can contribute to increasing the memorability of knowledge in medical education.
