Abstract

Infantile acute hemorrhagic edema is an unusual form of leukocytoclastic vasculitis which usually occurs in children younger than three years of age. Despite the quick progress of the cutaneous lesions, the disease follows a benign course with spontaneous resolution occurring in one to three weeks. We report three cases to focus on the characteristic features of the disease. Upper respiratory tract infection was considered the etiologic cause in one of the cases; no reason could be identified for the others.
