Abstract

This study aimed to evaluate pediatric residents’ and specialists’ knowledge and clinical approaches regarding nocturnal enuresis at a tertiary center. In this cross-sectional descriptive study, 97 physicians (79 residents, 18 specialists) participated via an online questionnaire sent between August 1–25, 2023. Most participants were knowledgeable about the definition, epidemiology, and basic diagnostic approach of nocturnal enuresis. However, some fundamental information was not fully internalized, and different answers were given to differently phrased questions. Half of residents and one quarter of specialists reported receiving no training on this topic. While behavioral therapies were well known, knowledge gaps existed regarding pharmacological options and refractory cases. In conclusion, physicians’ theoretical knowledge was adequate, but tools such as structured education are needed to translate knowledge into clinical practice and work more confidently in the field.
